Batista Tile begins with Alex Batista — Victor's father, the founder, and a tile setter with more than 30 years of craft under his belt. Alex built his foundational skills in Brazil, where he worked extensively with large-format porcelain and decorative artistic stone mosaics — demanding work that required precision, patience, and a deep understanding of materials and substrates that most North American tile setters never encounter.
Alex brought that knowledge to Cape Cod and spent years applying it to the region's high-end residential market — developing methods, systems, and standards that he refined project by project.
The Apprenticeship: Victor Batista
Victor didn't just learn tile setting from his father — he was carefully trained to mastery. Every skill, every material, every substrate. Alex taught Victor with the intention that the craft would continue exactly as he had practiced it: without shortcuts, without compromise, with genuine pride in every square foot installed.
That transmission of knowledge — from a master with over three decades of experience to a next-generation installer who trained under him until he reached mastery himself — is the foundation of everything Batista Tile delivers today.
The Company: Formalized in 2018
In 2018, Alex and Victor formalized their partnership into a corporation and officially launched Batista Tile together. What had been years of craft in practice became a proper business — with systems, processes, and the infrastructure to take on the volume and complexity of Cape Cod's construction market.
Today, Alex is retired. But his presence is felt on every job through the methods, techniques, and standards he passed down. The team that works on your project was trained the Batista way — and that doesn't change.

Batista Tile invests in training, apprenticeship, and culture in a way that's rare in the tile trade. Every week, the entire team trains together — led by Victor, and frequently joined by Alex and other reference expert installers from abroad. The goal is not just technical skill, but the right approach to the work itself: treating every home as a place someone will live in and love for decades.
